1 Use a 3⁄4-inch (19mm) flat double-loaded with Thicket and Fresh Foliage to paint the leaves and stems (see LEAVES, CONTINUED). The small stems come off one main stem and sprout out from there as shown.

2 Load a no. 10 flat with Wicker White and Violet Pansy and paint the four petals of each floret. For each petal, begin on the chisel, slide out, lean, then come up to the point. Reverse direction, lean out and lift back up to the chisel to end the stroke. Overlap the florets. Pick up a little Sunflower on your brush for the yellow-centered ones, then flip the brush over and paint another floret with yellow edges and a purple center.
